About me
The double bassist Pere Bujosa has just released his latest work, Homemade, self-produced and recorded at home, where he blends his affinity for polyrhythmic textures with the classic piano trio format, incorporating elements of electronics and free improvisation.
In 2022, Pere Bujosa toured India, visiting cities like Mumbai, Bangalore, and New Delhi. In 2023, he also performed at the Ubud Jazz Festival in Indonesia, the Canary Islands Jazz Festival, and Mallorca Jazz Sa Pobla.
Among his various projects, Bujosa plays in a trio with award-winning pianist Xavi Torres and drummer Joan Terol. Since its founding in 2018, the Pere Bujosa Trio has given numerous performances at various venues, including the Alternatilla Festival (Palma), Ibiza Jazz, and the Mercat de Música Viva de Vic. Pere Bujosa has released three solo albums and an EP—*Who’s Holland* (self-released, 2017), Wabi-Sabi (Fresh Sound New Talent, 2019), and Arise (self-released, 2020)—all of which have been well received by both audiences and critics. He has received several Enderrock Balears awards in 2019, the Jazz Alguer Contest Award in 2021, and the Emerging Group Award from Plataforma Jazz España in 2023.
He began his training as a double bassist in classical music and later moved to Barcelona to continue his studies at the Conservatori del Liceu.
In 2019, he completed his master's degree at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam (EUJAM Master), which led him to live in vibrant cities like Berlin and Copenhagen.
